Magnesium oxide is worth understanding because it is the reason this planter can be this size and still be carried. It is a mineral composite that cures hard and takes a stone-like surface, but at a fraction of the density of cast concrete, so a 37.5cm cube is a one-person lift rather than a two-person one.
That lightness has a consequence to plan for. A light pot with a tall plant in it is top-heavy, so this suits low, spreading foliage better than a single upright stem unless the soil mass is enough to hold it down.
The cube proportion is unusual and reads as architectural rather than horticultural. It suits a modern interior or a commercial space where a rounded pot would look domestic.
