Every piece is a material first. Here is how each one behaves in a real home, in a Queensland climate, over years. Read before you buy, and again after it arrives.

We used to do this on the showroom floor. Someone would fall for a marble table and we'd ask about the kids, the dog and the red wine before they bought it. Not to talk them out of it. To make sure they bought the right version of it and knew what to expect.
This library is that conversation, written down. One page per material: what it is, what will happen to it no matter how careful you are, who it suits, and how to look after it. No surprises after delivery. That's the whole point.
The more formal the material, the more precious the care. Jute, oak and linen shrug things off. Marble, viscose and aniline leather want attention. Neither is better. Choose the end of the scale your household actually lives at.
