A satin matte glaze is the finish that gives ceramic its velvet hand, and it is worth touching before deciding. It sits between a gloss that reflects and a raw bisque that feels chalky, and it is the reason a small pot like this reads as considered rather than merely plain.
Drainage hole and saucer together mean this can be planted into directly, which is unusual at this size and price. Most small decorative pots are covers; this one is a working planter, and a herb or a small succulent can live in it permanently.
Cocoa is a warm mid brown and it does something specific with green. Where a grey or white pot separates from foliage, a brown one relates to the soil and the stem, so the whole arrangement reads as a single natural object.
