A waterproofed inner lining is the specification that makes this a working planter rather than a cover. It means water cannot reach the body of the vessel, so a plant can be potted straight in and watered normally without the outside darkening or the base marking a surface.
Olive is a harder colour to use well than a neutral and more rewarding when it lands. The trick is to avoid matching it to the foliage: against a mid-green plant it reads as camouflage, while against grey, silver or deep green leaves it reads as a deliberate tonal pairing.
At 3.1kg it is heavy enough to stay put and light enough to be moved with one hand, which is a genuinely useful weight. Anything under about a kilo tips when a plant leans; anything much heavier stops being repositionable.
