The piece
The detail behind the silhouette
Modal is worth choosing deliberately. It is a natural fibre that absorbs more readily than cotton and stays soft through repeated washing rather than roughening, which makes it well suited to something worn against skin every night.
White piping against pale blue is a classic pyjama combination, and running it along the front opening as well as the collar and cuffs outlines the whole garment rather than just its edges. The effect is traditional in the best sense, the kind of set that looks properly made. A small amount of elastane gives the fabric recovery, so the shape holds rather than bagging at the knees and elbows over time. The waist tie draws in if the elastic alone is not enough.
