The piece
The detail behind the silhouette
Polystone is stone powder bound in resin, and the reason it dominates this part of the market is the weight. At 5.2kg a 29.5cm planter is carryable in one hand; the same vessel in cast stone would be three or four times heavier and would need two people and a plan.
A matte organic finish is what stops a resin-based material reading as plastic. The surface is deliberately slightly irregular, so light falls across it unevenly the way it does on real stone, and the pot passes at close range as well as across a room.
White at this size is a backdrop rather than a feature, which is the point. It is the vessel to buy when the plant is the thing worth looking at, and it will not date as a coloured pot eventually does.
