The piece
The detail behind the silhouette
A near-square footprint is the tell for a lounge chair rather than an accent chair. At 80cm wide and 79.5cm deep this one is built to be sat in for an evening, and that is a different purchase from a chair that mostly fills a corner.
Fully upholstered with no exposed frame means the silhouette is soft from every angle, which suits a room that already has a lot of visible timber or metal. It also means the chair is read by its fabric more than its shape, so the colour choice carries more weight than usual.
The caveat follows from the depth. At 79.5cm deep it needs clearance in front to get out of, so it is the wrong chair for a narrow spot beside a doorway however well the colour works there.
