Travertine and oak is a warmer pairing than stone with metal, because both materials carry visible grain and neither is trying to look engineered. The stone supplies the weight and the timber supplies the colour, so the table reads as two natural materials rather than as a designed contrast.
An ellipse leg rather than four is what keeps a 95cm top from feeling heavy. There is a single element under the stone, so the table appears to rest on one form rather than stand on a frame. Plan for two people on delivery: a round travertine top of this size is awkward for one, and it arrives separately from the base by design rather than by accident.
