The detail behind the silhouette
A round rug asks a specific question of a room: is there a centre? Under a round table, in a curved bay, or beneath a circular seating group it resolves the geometry, and anywhere else it will look like a rectangle that lost its corners.
The usual test is the chairs. Every chair should stay on the rug when it is pulled out to sit down, not just when it is pushed in, and that is the measurement worth taking before choosing the diameter.
A filament pile on a round rug shows its direction as a soft radial shading rather than as two ends. It is a subtler effect than on a rectangle, and it is one of the reasons round rugs in this fibre photograph poorly and look better in person.
Material: Handwoven from bamboo silk and jute
Construction: Tufted pile with subtle tonal variation
Colour: Sand
Handcrafted: Yes
Keep this rug dry. Vacuum with the beater bar off, blot any spill immediately, and do not wet-clean it: the bamboo silk content is a viscose and marks permanently where water has been. Professional dry cleaning only.
