Teak works in a room that already has timber in it. The mottling stops it from matching the floor exactly, which is what you want: a rug that matches a timber floor reads as a mistake.
PET is polyester recovered from drink bottles, and as a rug fibre it behaves quite differently from wool. It does not absorb liquid, so a spill sits on the surface and blots out completely rather than wicking into the pile, which is why a PET rug goes under a dining table where a wool one should not.
The trade is underfoot feel. PET is harder and less springy than wool, so a flatweave in it reads as crisp rather than soft, and it will not recover from furniture indentation the way a wool pile does.
Undercover is the operative word for outdoor use. The fibre tolerates damp but a rug left in the weather collects grit through the weave and grows mould underneath where it cannot dry.

White glove delivery
Our two-person team carries your piece into the room of your choice, unpacks it, assembles it where needed and takes the packaging away.
Delivery price: one price per order, set by the largest service in it. Furniture and rugs come white glove, metro from $199, regional from $349. Mirrors, art and large decor or lighting come by room delivery, from $149: two people place them in your room, without hanging or installation. Lighting ships by courier from $49. Smaller decor ships by courier from $25, usually free on decor orders over $350. Some remote areas are quoted after you order.
In-stock pieces usually arrive in 2 to 4 weeks. Out-of-stock and made-to-order pieces can take up to 12 to 16 weeks. We'll confirm your timing and call to book your delivery.
Restricted access: stairs, tight corners, a long carry from the truck or no parking nearby add $79. Lifts are fine.
