Tepih Dune Rug - Oatmeal
The Tepih Dune Rug in Oatmeal is hand loom knotted in a 70% viscose and 30% wool blend, and is offered in three sizes on this page. Oatmeal is a pale warm neutral that sits into a timber floor rather than standing against it. It is made for indoor use, and a rug pad is recommended underneath.

The piece
The detail behind the silhouette
Viscose is what gives this rug its sheen. The fibre takes dye deeply and reflects light along its length, so an oatmeal that would read as flat in pure wool instead shifts between cream and a soft biscuit as you cross the room. The 30% wool is what keeps it working underfoot, because wool has the spring and the recovery that viscose on its own does not.
Hand loom knotting sits between a machine-made rug and a fully hand-knotted one. The pile is worked by hand onto a loom-set warp, so there is no adhesive backing to break down with age, and it is the reason the supplier rates this for light commercial use rather than domestic only. Be realistic about a pale rug in a hallway or a doorway; in a lounge or a bedroom it will hold its look far longer.

Regular low power vacuuming is what the supplier asks for, with spot cleaning only. A pale rug repays prompt attention to spills, because a mark left to dry into a light viscose pile is far harder to lift than one blotted straight away. Every piece is handcrafted, so slight variation between rugs is normal.
