A distressed finish on a wool rug is achieved by varying the dye uptake across the pile rather than by wearing the surface, so the mottling is through the fibre and will not fade out with use. It also hides the traffic patterns that show on an evenly dyed rug in a hallway or in front of a sofa.
The short fringe is a finishing detail with a practical consequence: it is the part that wears and mats first, and it cannot be replaced. Keep it out of a doorway if the rug is going somewhere with heavy traffic.
Honey is a warm mid tone, which makes it one of the easier rug colours to live with. It relates to timber floors rather than fighting them, and it does not show the dust that a dark rug does or the marks that a pale one does.

Vacuum without a beater bar. Comb the fringe straight by hand rather than vacuuming it. Blot spills and have the rug professionally cleaned.

White glove delivery
Our two-person team carries your piece into the room of your choice, unpacks it, assembles it where needed and takes the packaging away.
Delivery price: one price per order, set by the largest service in it. Furniture and rugs come white glove, metro from $199, regional from $349. Mirrors, art and large decor or lighting come by room delivery, from $149: two people place them in your room, without hanging or installation. Lighting ships by courier from $49. Smaller decor ships by courier from $25, usually free on decor orders over $350. Some remote areas are quoted after you order.
In-stock pieces usually arrive in 2 to 4 weeks. Out-of-stock and made-to-order pieces can take up to 12 to 16 weeks. We'll confirm your timing and call to book your delivery.
Restricted access: stairs, tight corners, a long carry from the truck or no parking nearby add $79. Lifts are fine.
