Black oak is the version that reads as an object rather than as a surface. On a pale rug a dark 120cm disc becomes the anchor of the seating arrangement, which is a different job from a timber-toned table that blends into the floor.
Be clear about the construction, because the listing is. The top is MDF faced in oak veneer and the legs are PVC wrapped in the same veneer, which is what allows the round pillar form to be made consistently and keeps the whole thing to 40kg. It is rated to hold 50kg, so it takes a loaded tray without complaint. The chamfered edge and demi-bullnose profile soften what would otherwise be a hard 40mm rim at shin height.
