The Rider Occasional Chair has a circular high-back form that curves into enveloping armrests and leg supports, upholstered in boucle. The seat is 64cm deep with high-density foam over a kiln-dried timber frame. Firm and supportive rather than soft.

The circular form is the whole idea. Back, arms and leg supports flow into one continuous curve rather than being assembled from separate parts, which is what gives the chair its enclosing quality and why it suits a corner where you want to feel tucked in.
That depth matters: at 64cm the seat is generous enough to properly sit back into rather than perch on. The construction is worth knowing about too. Kiln-dried solid and engineered timber makes for a frame that will not warp, and high-density foam with a fibre overlay is what keeps the shape rather than flattening over a few years. The seat comfort is described as firm and supportive, so this is not a chair that swallows you. Boucle here is 100% polyester and easy to clean.

White glove delivery
Our two-person team carries your piece into the room of your choice, unpacks it, assembles it where needed and takes the packaging away.
Delivery price: one price per order, set by the largest service in it. Furniture and rugs come white glove, metro from $199, regional from $349. Mirrors, art and large decor or lighting come by room delivery, from $149: two people place them in your room, without hanging or installation. Lighting ships by courier from $49. Smaller decor ships by courier from $25, usually free on decor orders over $350. Some remote areas are quoted after you order.
In-stock pieces usually arrive in 2 to 4 weeks. Out-of-stock and made-to-order pieces can take up to 12 to 16 weeks. We'll confirm your timing and call to book your delivery.
Restricted access: stairs, tight corners, a long carry from the truck or no parking nearby add $79. Lifts are fine.
