The Petra Oval Dining Table in Ivory is glass-reinforced concrete with a PU sealer and a natural pitted finish. It measures 200cm by 100cm and seats up to six. It ships knocked down.

The pitted finish is the point of this table and it is worth setting expectations about. The surface is deliberately irregular, with small voids left visible rather than filled, which is what gives cast concrete its character. It also means crumbs and dust find somewhere to sit, so this is a table that wants a brush rather than a wipe.

Glass-reinforced concrete is what makes an oval this size possible without a slab of impossible weight; the fibre through the mix allows a thinner casting at the same strength. The PU sealer on both top and base is what stops a spilled glass of red becoming permanent, which unsealed concrete cannot resist. The seating claim of six is corroborated by the product code, which is not true of every table in this range.
