The piece
The detail behind the silhouette
The combination of an organic outline and a square edge profile is what stops this reading as a soft, shapeless piece. The plan view is all curve; the edge you actually touch is crisp. That tension is the design, and it is why the tables hold their own against angular furniture rather than disappearing into it.
Natural ash keeps the grain fully visible, which on a 20mm edge is most of what you see when the table is in use. Two tables at the same height rather than stepped means they function as one large surface when pushed together, then divide cleanly for two ends of a room. Fully assembled on arrival, so there is nothing to work out on the floor of your living room.
