The detail behind the silhouette
Curved legs under a stone top is a harder thing to make than it looks, and it is the reason this reads as designed rather than assembled. A straight leg under marble gives you a plinth; a curve gives the eye somewhere to travel and lightens what is otherwise a heavy object.
Ocean marble is cool and green-toned, which puts it at the opposite end of the stone palette from the warm browns. Against natural ash the contrast is temperature rather than tone, cool stone on warm timber, and it is a combination that suits a room with a lot of daylight. The chamfered edge takes the hard line off the top without rounding it fully. Knock-down assembly, which with a stone top is the practical way to get it into the room.
