Stone on a dining room cupboard is the one place stone is unambiguously practical. It is the surface that takes hot dishes, wet glasses and whatever is carried in from the kitchen, and it is the surface that shows every ring if it is timber.
The curved front is what stops 180cm of cabinet reading as a wall. Combined with a full-length stone top, the piece is doing two things at once: it is the storage and it is the serving surface.
Two honest caveats. Veining runs differently through every piece, so the one that arrives will not match a photograph, and a full-length stone top makes this heavy enough to position once with two people rather than to shuffle along a wall.
