The detail behind the silhouette
A low pile and a large floor are connected decisions. A big rug carries a great deal of traffic across it, and depth is what fails first under traffic, so the shallower surface is what keeps a rug of this scale looking even.
The design is drawn rather than woven in colour. Lines are formed by the direction the tufts are laid rather than by any change of yarn, so the pattern is visible from one side of the room and almost invisible from the other.
Oatmeal is a neutral with texture in the name and in the colour. It holds a slight variation across the surface, which is what keeps a very large single-colour rug from reading as a flat expanse.
Material: 100% wool
Construction: Hand-tufted with a minimal pile
Design: Abstract, drawn from natural mineral lines
Colour: Oatmeal
Handcrafted: Yes
Vacuum with suction only. Blot spills. A tufted rug should be professionally cleaned rather than wet-washed, since water reaches the backing and stays there.
