The Monroe Dining Chair Black is built from oak with a double rattan backrest and a fabric-upholstered seat, standing 83.5cm high. The rattan back breathes where a solid one would not. Finished in black.

A double rattan backrest is doing two jobs at once. Visually it keeps the chair light, letting you see through to the room behind rather than presenting a solid panel, and practically it breathes against your back through a long meal.
Pairing that with an upholstered seat is the sensible combination. The back does not need padding to be comfortable, but the seat certainly does, and fabric there makes the difference between a chair people linger in and one they shift about on. Black over oak is a strong choice, giving the chair a defined silhouette that stands out against a timber table rather than disappearing into it. It works in modern, classic and contemporary rooms equally.

White glove delivery
Our two-person team carries your piece into the room of your choice, unpacks it, assembles it where needed and takes the packaging away.
Delivery price: one price per order, set by the largest service in it. Furniture and rugs come white glove, metro from $199, regional from $349. Mirrors, art and large decor or lighting come by room delivery, from $149: two people place them in your room, without hanging or installation. Lighting ships by courier from $49. Smaller decor ships by courier from $25, usually free on decor orders over $350. Some remote areas are quoted after you order.
In-stock pieces usually arrive in 2 to 4 weeks. Out-of-stock and made-to-order pieces can take up to 12 to 16 weeks. We'll confirm your timing and call to book your delivery.
Restricted access: stairs, tight corners, a long carry from the truck or no parking nearby add $79. Lifts are fine.
