Michigan Dining Chair
The Michigan Dining Chair pairs a handwoven rattan seat and back with a solid mindi timber frame, measuring 53cm wide, 51cm deep and 88cm high. The seat sits at 45cm with arms at 58cm. A white upholstered chair pad softens the weave.

Rattan and a padded seat is a combination that solves the usual problem with woven dining chairs. An open weave breathes and looks light, but it is not something anyone wants to sit on through a long dinner, and a cushioned pad restores the comfort without closing the back in.
The arm height is the number to check against your table. At 58cm the arms will slide under most dining tables, but not under one with a deep apron or rail, and a chair that cannot be pushed in eats a surprising amount of room. Measure from the floor to the underside of your table before ordering a set.
Because the rattan is handwoven and the mindi is solid timber, no two chairs are identical in tone or in the pattern of the weave. Ordering a set together keeps the variation within a range that reads as handmade rather than mismatched.

Dust with a soft dry cloth to keep the rattan clean. Wipe spills straight away with a damp cloth. Keep out of direct sunlight and away from persistent damp, both of which shorten the life of rattan and timber.

White glove delivery
Our two-person team carries your piece into the room of your choice, unpacks it, assembles it where needed and takes the packaging away.
Delivery price: one price per order, set by the largest service in it. Furniture and rugs come white glove, metro from $199, regional from $349. Mirrors, art and large decor or lighting come by room delivery, from $149: two people place them in your room, without hanging or installation. Lighting ships by courier from $49. Smaller decor ships by courier from $25, usually free on decor orders over $350. Some remote areas are quoted after you order.
In-stock pieces usually arrive in 2 to 4 weeks. Out-of-stock and made-to-order pieces can take up to 12 to 16 weeks. We'll confirm your timing and call to book your delivery.
Restricted access: stairs, tight corners, a long carry from the truck or no parking nearby add $79. Lifts are fine.
