At 280cm this is a table built for a room that was designed around it, and the two published figures tell you whether it will work. A 295mm overhang at the sides means chairs pull in properly; 1060mm between the legs at the ends means two people can sit at each end without straddling anything.
Fluting on a pillar leg at this scale is doing more than decorating. It breaks up what would otherwise be a substantial column of painted veneer, catching light in vertical bands so the base reads as a series of lines rather than a block. Porcelain is a painted finish over MDF and ash veneer rather than a natural timber tone, which is what makes the pale colour possible and consistent across a top this large.
