The Facette 1 Seater Centre Sofa in Doppio is an armless 990mm module in a soft textured rayon and polyester blend, with a flange edge and channelled seat. It goes between the arm modules, and how many you order decides how long the sofa ends up.

The flange edge is a raised seam run around the panels and the seat is channelled rather than plain, so the piece reads as constructed rather than soft. On the centre module, with no arm at either end, that tailoring is at its most visible.

Doppio is 85% rayon and 15% polyester at 20,000 Martindale rubs. That is well short of the 50,000 some of our upholstery carries, so it suits a formal sitting room better than the busiest room in the house. What you get in exchange is the hand: rayon gives a softer, more fluid surface than a hard wearing synthetic does. Which matters more depends on how the room actually gets used.
