The detail behind the silhouette
An unfinished surface is a specific proposition worth understanding. Nothing has been applied over the timber, so what you see and touch is the teak itself, complete with the knots, patches and tonal shifts of wood that spent a century as part of a building.
That openness comes with a trade-off. An unsealed top is more vulnerable to spills and heat rings than a lacquered one, so coasters and a wipe-down habit matter here more than usual. In exchange you get a surface that ages and develops rather than staying static. The joinery on the legs is the craft element, using techniques passed between generations of East Java artisans and left exposed rather than concealed. Every table differs in grain and character.
