Oyster takes the yellow out of ash without going grey, which makes it the easiest of these finishes to place against a cool-toned sofa. Pale timber that reads warm will fight a grey room; this one does not.
The inset top is what separates this from a plain disc on a stem. Recessing the centre 19mm inside a 35mm edge gives a shallow tray, which catches a remote or a set of coasters rather than letting them slide, and puts a shadow line around the rim. At 80cm it is proportioned for a two or three seater rather than a long sofa, and the single central base means it can be pushed close without a leg landing where a foot wants to go.
