An oval at 240cm seats a lot of people without the hard corners of a rectangle, and the pillar base is what makes the length usable. With no legs at the ends, chairs go anywhere along the sides and both ends stay open, so nobody is wedged against timber.
The base footprint of 950mm by 475mm is elongated rather than round, which is the correct answer for an oval top: it spreads support along the length where the leverage is, instead of concentrating it at a single central point. Matt dark oak on a table this size is a considerable amount of dark timber, so it wants a room with light in it or it will pull the space down.

White glove delivery
Our two-person team carries your piece into the room of your choice, unpacks it, assembles it where needed and takes the packaging away.
Delivery price: one price per order, set by the largest service in it. Furniture and rugs come white glove, metro from $199, regional from $349. Mirrors, art and large decor or lighting come by room delivery, from $149: two people place them in your room, without hanging or installation. Lighting ships by courier from $49. Smaller decor ships by courier from $25, usually free on decor orders over $350. Some remote areas are quoted after you order.
In-stock pieces usually arrive in 2 to 4 weeks. Out-of-stock and made-to-order pieces can take up to 12 to 16 weeks. We'll confirm your timing and call to book your delivery.
Restricted access: stairs, tight corners, a long carry from the truck or no parking nearby add $79. Lifts are fine.
