The Cali Floor Lamp stands 173cm tall on a 53cm base, made from resin, metal and PPE in a black finish. It takes a single E27 globe up to 40W. The wide base is what keeps a lamp this tall stable.

Base diameter is the specification that matters most on a floor lamp and the one most often omitted. At 53cm this one is wide enough to stand safely on a rug without a cable tug tipping it, and wide enough to matter when planning the floor around a sofa.

A 40W ceiling on the globe is a real constraint rather than a formality. It rules out the brighter LED equivalents, so this is an ambient light for layering beside seating, not a lamp to read by on its own.

At 173cm the shade sits above head height for anyone seated, which is where a floor lamp should be. Lower than that and the globe is visible from the sofa; higher and the light spills across the ceiling instead of the room.
