Benjamin Ripple Marble Dining Table - Brown Vein Marble - Putty
View By Appointment
The Benjamin Ripple Marble Dining Table is a 120cm round brown vein marble top on a rippled timber pillar base in putty. The top overhangs the base by 360mm with 700mm of clearance underneath, and the base is 480mm across. The edge is a full bullnose.
The overhang is the number that decides whether a pedestal dining table works, and 360mm is generous. Chairs pull in all the way round without anyone meeting the pillar, which is the failure that makes many sculptural tables uncomfortable to actually eat at.
A full bullnose rounds the entire edge rather than just the top half, which on stone is the safer profile as well as the softer one; a square marble edge at hip height is unforgiving. Putty on the base is a deliberate step back, letting the veining in the marble carry the interest while the ripple provides texture without colour. Solid ash and veneer under PU means the base is timber doing structural work rather than a facing over board.
