The detail behind the silhouette
Mottling in a rug of this kind comes from dyeing the yarn in small lots rather than one large one. Slight variation between lots is what produces the shifting tone across the surface, and it is the reason two rugs in the same colourway will never be identical.
That variation is a practical advantage as well as a visual one. A mottled ground has no single flat colour for a mark to sit against, so it stays looking clean far longer than an even dye of the same shade.
In its smaller sizes this rug works beside a bed, under a reading chair, or as a defined patch in a larger room rather than as the floor covering for the whole of it.
Material: 100% New Zealand wool
Construction: Handcrafted with a low pile and short fringe
Design: Lightly distressed, mottled surface
Colour: Lichen, soft charcoal with earthy undertones

Vacuum with the beater bar off and keep the head clear of the fringe. Blot spills. Professional wool cleaning rather than wet-washing.
