Atlas Slab Console Table

The Atlas Slab Console Table is 140cm long, 40cm deep and 78cm high, cut in ocean marble through both the top and the base. Two triangular slab legs carry a rounded top edge. It arrives knock-down for assembly.
At 40cm deep this is a console in the strict sense, meant to sit against a wall in a hallway rather than to be walked around. That depth is what makes it work in a corridor, where anything deeper starts to narrow the route, and it is also why the length is the measurement to check first.
Marble through the base as well as the top is the specification that separates this from most consoles at this shape. A stone top on a metal frame will always read as two materials meeting; a single stone reads as one object, and the triangular legs are cut heavy enough to look structural rather than applied.
The rounded top edge is a practical detail in a hallway. A square arris on stone chips if anything is knocked against it, and in the one part of the house where people carry bags past furniture, a softened edge is the difference between a table that stays sharp and one that does not.
