Cut-and-loop is two constructions in one rug. Some tufts are sheared open and some left as closed loops, so the surface carries two different heights and two different ways of catching light, which is what produces pattern without any change of colour.
New Zealand wool is specified rather than simply wool for a reason worth knowing. It is a longer, whiter staple than most, so it takes dye evenly and resists the yellowing that shows on a pale rug within a few years.
In a living room this rug should sit under the front legs of every seat at minimum. Floated in the middle with the furniture off it, a large rug reads as a mistake rather than a choice, so size up rather than down when you are between two options.

Vacuum without a beater bar, which pulls loops. Blot spills rather than rubbing, and have a wool rug professionally cleaned rather than wet-washed.

White glove delivery
Our two-person team carries your piece into the room of your choice, unpacks it, assembles it where needed and takes the packaging away.
Delivery price: one price per order, set by the largest service in it. Furniture and rugs come white glove, metro from $199, regional from $349. Mirrors, art and large decor or lighting come by room delivery, from $149: two people place them in your room, without hanging or installation. Lighting ships by courier from $49. Smaller decor ships by courier from $25, usually free on decor orders over $350. Some remote areas are quoted after you order.
In-stock pieces usually arrive in 2 to 4 weeks. Out-of-stock and made-to-order pieces can take up to 12 to 16 weeks. We'll confirm your timing and call to book your delivery.
Restricted access: stairs, tight corners, a long carry from the truck or no parking nearby add $79. Lifts are fine.
