Andalusian Platform Grand End Table
The Andalusian Platform Grand End Table is 380mm square and 510mm high, cast in glassfibre reinforced concrete. The top is glazed olive and the base ivory, both sealed with PU. It works indoors or out.
Glassfibre reinforced concrete is a genuinely different material from cast concrete and the distinction matters here. The fibres let the section be much thinner for the same strength, which is why a concrete table at this size can be carried by one person rather than craned into place.
The two-tone glaze is the detail that keeps a plain platform form interesting. Olive above ivory draws a line at the join and gives the piece a horizon, so a simple block reads as two considered elements rather than one moulded lump.
The care note about hairline cracks is worth taking at face value rather than as a disclaimer. Lightweight concrete moves with temperature, and small open pores and fine surface lines are how the material behaves, not how it fails. Anyone who wants a surface that stays visually identical for a decade should choose stone instead.
