Amara Curve Side Table
The Amara Curve Side Table in white is cut from Italian Carrara marble with a matte finish, measuring 50cm cubed. Carrara's grey veining runs through a soft white ground. The white-on-white palette suits most interiors.

The detail behind the silhouette
Carrara is the marble everyone pictures when they think of marble, quarried in Tuscany and used for centuries in sculpture and architecture. Its grey veining against a soft white ground is restrained compared with the more dramatic stones, which is why it has stayed in use for so long.
A matte finish rather than polished is a modern treatment of a classical material, and it makes a real difference in a home. Polished Carrara reflects and shows every mark, whereas matte reads softer and more forgiving. As with any marble, it is porous, so coasters are a sensible precaution against wine and coffee. The white-on-white palette makes this the easiest of the three to place, working equally in a contemporary, classic or minimal room.
