At 41cm this is a substantial outdoor vessel and it works hardest as a pair. Two identical planters flanking a door or a set of steps is one of the oldest moves in garden design and still one of the most effective, because it reads as intent rather than as accumulation.
A glazed finish outdoors behaves differently from an unglazed one. Water beads and runs off rather than soaking in, so the surface stays closer to its original colour through a wet season, and there is less of the mineral staining that unglazed stone picks up.
White at this size is a commitment to maintenance in exchange for brightness. It will lift a dark corner considerably; it will also want cleaning more than once a year to keep doing so.
