Hessian white is a warmer white than a painted one, carrying the slightly textured, natural quality the fibre suggests. That makes a real difference in lamplight, where a cold white shade throws harsh light and a warmer one softens it.
At 61cm this is a mid-height lamp with a broad 43cm footprint, so it needs a surface with some depth rather than a narrow bedside. That width also means it throws light across a wider area than a slim lamp, which suits a reading corner where you want the whole chair lit rather than a focused pool. A plain on-off switch rather than a touch base or a dimmer is worth knowing: simpler to use, fewer things to fail.

White glove delivery
Our two-person team carries your piece into the room of your choice, unpacks it, assembles it where needed and takes the packaging away.
Delivery price: one price per order, set by the largest service in it. Furniture and rugs come white glove, metro from $199, regional from $349. Mirrors, art and large decor or lighting come by room delivery, from $149: two people place them in your room, without hanging or installation. Lighting ships by courier from $49. Smaller decor ships by courier from $25, usually free on decor orders over $350. Some remote areas are quoted after you order.
In-stock pieces usually arrive in 2 to 4 weeks. Out-of-stock and made-to-order pieces can take up to 12 to 16 weeks. We'll confirm your timing and call to book your delivery.
Restricted access: stairs, tight corners, a long carry from the truck or no parking nearby add $79. Lifts are fine.
