The Tully Side Table is 50cm square and 48cm high, handcrafted from solid teak with a ribbed base. It weighs 13kg and holds up to 50kg. The base is finished with a water-based sealer.

A ribbed base does more than decorate. The vertical grooves catch light down one side and hold shadow on the other, so a solid block of timber reads as a lighter, open form from across the room without losing any of the mass that keeps it stable.

Solid teak has natural oils that can rise to the surface over time, which is worth knowing before the table goes on a pale rug or a polished floor. Floor protectors are a sensible precaution rather than an optional extra on this one.

The stated 50kg load is generous for a piece this size and tells you something about the construction. It is a table you can sit on at the edge of a gathering, which a veneered side table of the same footprint would not survive.
