The Austin Woven Jute Bench Seat is a 140cm bench with a handwoven jute seat on a solid recycled teak frame. The reclaimed timber carries its own grain variation and marks. Made for indoor use.

Recycled teak means every bench is slightly different before anyone starts weaving it. Grain patterns, small natural imperfections and shifts in tone come with timber that has already had one life, so what arrives will be close to but not identical to the photograph.

A jute seat keeps the whole thing from feeling heavy. Woven fibre has give and texture where a solid timber seat would be hard and flat, and the natural colour sits warmly against the teak. At 140cm it takes two adults comfortably, which makes it work at a dining table, along a hallway for putting shoes on, or at the end of a bed. Keep it indoors, jute does not enjoy weather.
